At Solomon Horsemanship, our goal is to develop horses with correct foundations, athleticism, and strong minds, while fostering a partnership built on trust, consistency, and excellence. Every horse in our program receives individual attention, patience, and precision, ensuring long-term soundness and success in the show pen.
Colt starting
We believe that a solid foundation is the most important part of a young horse’s future success. From day one, we focus on building confidence, relaxation under pressure, and correct habits. A horse with a strong start is prepared to excel in any discipline, whether futurities, performance events, or all-around work. We give each colt the attention and patience needed to develop correct mechanics and a willing mindset, setting them up for a lifetime of success.
Please note: We have limited availability in our colt starting program, so early contact is recommended.
Horse training
We specialize in training performance horses in the reined cow horse discipline, focusing on correctness, athletic development, and consistency. Every horse in our program is developed to work cows correctly, maintain proper balance, and execute patterns, preparing them for futurities and shows. We tailor each program to the needs of the horse, keeping long-term soundness and safety at the forefront of every decision.
Please note: Our barn has limited availability, and we encourage early inquiries for training.
Clinics
David’s passion is sharing his knowledge and helping riders develop a deeper understanding of their horses. Solomon Horsemanship offers two types of clinics designed to build confident, capable horsemen and prepare horses and riders for the show pen.
Horsemanship Clinics
These clinics focus on foundational horsemanship, emphasizing correct body control, timing, feel, and communication. Riders gain a clearer understanding of how their habits influence their horse’s performance, creating consistency and confidence in everyday riding and competition settings.
Cow Working Clinics
Our cow working clinics build on those same horsemanship principles while working cattle. Riders refine footwork, positioning, and decision-making—skills that translate directly to improved performance, control, and readiness in the show pen.
Because we actively show horses, our clinics are designed not only to improve horsemanship, but also to help prepare both horse and rider for the demands of competition.

Clinic FAQs
Who are the clinics for?
Our clinics are designed for riders who want to deepen their horsemanship, refine performance skills, and better understand how daily habits influence their horse. We welcome both developing riders and experienced competitors with performance horses. Instruction is adapted to each horse and rider.
Do I need to compete to attend?
No. While our clinics are shaped by our experience showing horses, they benefit anyone seeking clearer communication, consistency, and confidence. Many participants attend to prepare for competition or to elevate their program at home.
What is the difference between Horsemanship Clinics and Cow Working Clinics?
